In 1985, The Bayern Company began its unprecedented rise. Today, as a market leader in the development of specialty software for metal service centers, we continue to build on a solid foundation. Bayern is a privately-held corporation with headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona.Since the introduction of Bayern's original product, STEEL PLUS in 1985, pivotal changes have impacted the metal distribution industry. Throughout these changes, we have remained focused on a single goal: To be the world's #1 provider of integrated software for Metal Service Centers, and to provide the best possible service to each and every one of our customers.
Using a unique approach, Bayern has succeeded in bringing to market robust applications that work equally well for flat rolled products, plate, general line, structural products, tool steel, and specialty service centers. Of course, most software developers offer multiple versions of their software (one for flat rolled products, one for general line, etc.). The advantages of this approach are clear: initially it is less expensive and far easier from a design standpoint. Unfortunately, support and maintenance costs are vastly increased over the life of the product. Naturally, these costs are passed on to you, the customer, in the form of higher prices both for the initial license and ongoing maintenance. Bayern's vision, on the other hand, has never included multiple products with the accompanying requirements, costs, and headaches. Rather, we choose to incorporate extensive flexibility into our software systems. This approach allows us to offer software packed with features at a price that appeals to service centers of every size. Through extensive use of user-defined fields, dynamic menus, flexible reporting tools, as well as extensive and detailed setup routines, we are able to offer you a single, powerful application that can be used in your service center without regard to your chosen field of specialization. Bayern software has always been very reasonably priced. Unfortunately, that has lead some people to the false conclusion that something must be missing. In reality, this is the farthest thing from the truth. Bayern software is feature rich and simply an unsurpassed value. In our mind, there’s absolutely no reason that your company should be financially burdened by the very act of purchasing a software package.
